Security Breach Puts UC San Francisco Patients at Risk

In September, a faculty physician in the UCSF School of Medicine provided a username and password in response to a scam e-mail that appeared to come from UCSF workers who are responsible for upgrading security on internal computer servers. All patients have been notified of the security breach.

Medical information was involved in two security breaches in Detroit. The incidents involved thefts of a flash drive and five desktop computers.
