Secunia says that conflicting reports about the severity of a newly reported Opera flaw could be harming efforts to mitigate the threat, according to V3.co.uk. Carsten Eiram, chief security specialist at Secunia, says claims that the vulnerability is zero-day "is misleading as no working exploit has been published nor is the vulnerability being actively exploited."
As reports of the bug surfaced, Opera downplayed the threat, saying that because it depends on so many things, an attack is unlikely.
