Military Warns of Cyber Threat From China

Appearing before the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, Navy Adm. Robert Willard offered a strong warning about cyber threats posed by China, reports Computerworld:

U.S. military and government networks and computer systems continue to be the target of intrusions that appear to have originated from within the PRC (People's Republic of China).

Willard says the military's operations in its Pacific command face "increasingly active and sophisticated threats to [its] information and computer infrastructure."

It's not just the military warning about threats from China. During a Congressional hearing discussing Internet freedom and China, U.S. registrar GoDaddy general counsel Christine Jones said that the company had faced increased DDoS attacks this year that appear to have originated from China.
