Maine Legislature, University Victims of Hackers

According to SPAMfighter, the Maine Legislature and the University of Maine are the victims of hackers, although the two incidents do not seem to be related.

University police say that hackers accessed birth dates, Social Security numbers and other sensitive information of students or alumni who visited the counseling center of the Orono campus between Aug. 8, 2002 and June 12, 2010.

Meanwhile, the Maine Legislature also has released a notification saying that a website used to keep a regular eye on a bill's status may have been compromised and infected with malware. The site is currently offline.
