IBM to Pair Technologies for Secure Software Development
Computerworld reports that IBM is making use of two acquisitions to offer an enterprise-level product for security testing and code scanning.
The product will feature Rational AppScan testing capabilities, acquired when IBM bought Watchfire, and the former Ounce Labs software that checks code for security issues. AppScan tests software from the inside, while Ounce looks for security flaws by doing inside-out testing of source code. IBM wants to bring the two technologies together.
The product is set to be released later this year.
