Drudge Serving up Malware?

Visitors to the Drudge Report are claiming that they got malware after visiting the site. Matt Drudge denies that his site was infecting visitors, but CNET News claims a visitor to the site has provided them with a screenshot of what appears to a be a typical fake antivirus warning.

The article notes that it is possible that the malware came from an ad, which is exactly what happened last September.

Even though FOXNews.com reports that Sen. Jim Inhofe says the incident is likely a ruse to prevent people from visiting the site, the Senate isn't taking any chances. According to The Huffington Post, the Senate's Committee on Environment and Public Works is asking employees to steer clear of the Drudge Report as well as whitepages.org after a wave of virus attacks.
