Cisco Offers Security Without Borders

NetworkWorld reports that Cisco has announced an initiative known as Secure Borderless Network architecture. The intiative is being described as an "always on" security protection for mobile devices, in addition to establishing controls over cloud computing applications.

Secure Borderless Network brings together enhancements to three Cisco products -- the Cisco AnyConnect client, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) and Cisco's IronPort Web Security appliance. As CTOEdge blogger Mike Vizard notes:

All three platforms are then tied to Cisco TrustSec, which is a policy-based management platform that allows IT organizations to manage client access and identify potential sources of threats on the Web that should not be accessed.

The products will work in unison to provide an "always on" VPN function and client protection that offers data-loss prevention, access to cloud-based applications and Web filtering.
