Apache Patches Critical Flaw

Help Net Security reports that Brett Gervasoni, a researcher and consultant with Sense of Security Labs, has discovered a serious vulnerability in Apache's HTTP Web server. The flaw allows an attacker to gain remote access to the server and total control of a database.

As V3.co.uk notes, Apache 2.2.14 and earlier versions where the software is being run on Windows systems are affected. The latest version 2.2.15 fixes the issue. ServerWatch says 2.2.15 addresses several security vulnerabilities in Apache's flagship HTTP Web server.
