Amazon Offers PayPhrase Authentication

All Web sites that use the Checkout by Amazon payment service will now use a new PayPhrase authentication platform. Buyers will be able to retain a single, easy-to-remember login credential, reports V3.co.uk.

Users choose a phrase that can be easily remembered. Before checking out, the user enters the phrase along with a four-digit PIN. This authorizes the purchase, and the user can continue on with the transaction.

Amazon believes users will appreciate the ease of managing a single credential, says PayPhrase general manager Matt Williams:

We think customers will enjoy the simplicity that Amazon PayPhrase offers, and we hope they'll have some fun choosing their own personal phrases.
